Dance Fuel Harmonizes Their Catalogue

The digital download store Dance Fuel has announced that it will start to provide harmonic mixing information in their catalogue. What is this you might ask? In the world of pro DJ'ing performing harmonic mixes can strengthen your skills and produce amazing sounding results for your sets. Dance Fuel has said that harmonics is "the natural evolution after beat matching/mixing."

Currently you have to use external software to key your music such as Mixed in Key or the information is provided in some digital mixing applications. The most popular notation system is the Camelot System which gives you an easy to understand wheel to match your keys. Mixed in key uses this system and Dance Fuel is providing the same notation.

To get everything started they will be providing key information for their charts but will be expanding the service to cover their entire catalogue of over 110,000 tracks.

It's good to see a music store that is thinking ahead in terms of providing more than the standard meta data for the tracks they sell. It will be interesting to see how long it takes before other stores follow suit. Will they?
